Announcing our summer day trip!

The National Memorial Arboretum  – Wednesday 17th July 2024.

Our summer day trip will be to this nationally important site in Staffordshire which has a wonderful collection of memorials of all kinds, not all military, set in open parkland with thousands of trees, together with pavilions telling many stories of past conflicts and those who fought in them. We will have a 15-minute introductory talk on arrival which will help us to make the most of the day. There is a large restaurant and it is possible to ride on a land train around the site (at extra cost) and there are also available for hire mobility scooters by booking on 01283 245100.

The cost is £25.00 which includes the coach, all fees, and a gratuity for the driver. Please complete the application form accessible via the button below and give/send it to me, Beverley, or Roland. * Please note that the Chiswick House trip has been cancelled.

A letter from Lesley Kirby of the Stamford Singers:-

Bob Chilcott is coming to Stamford on Saturday 15th June 2024 to lead a charity fundraising Come and Sing day, featuring two of his works – 

Little Jazz Mass and Five Days that Changed the World. The event is being promoted by local Stamford based choir, Stamford Singers. All profits will go to The Evergreen Care Trust, the choir’s adopted charity.

I would be most grateful if you could bring this to the attention of your members and attach a poster with details of how to apply. Registrations close on 31st May 2024 or earlier, if all tickets are sold before then.
